A great day was had by all at the Clervaux Trust Summer fair, as the newly developed site (Croft-on-Tees, North Yorkshire) opened its doors to the general public.
The Clervaux site now houses a Garden School (opening later this year) for children aged 10-19 years, Clervaux Life provision (post 16 years) and The Fold (family centre) as well as the Clervaux Artisan café and bakery in nearby Darlington, which uses produce from the 100 acre biodynamic site.
Students, staff and local community came together to celebrate the development of the site, as well as enjoying the artisan craft stalls, live music and a host of locally produced food and drink including freshly baked bread and cakes from our very own Clervaux Café, and homemade pizzas fired in our outdoor clay oven. The day also saw the unveiling of the beautiful, Spirit of Neasham tapestry wall hanging, made by the talented women of Neasham Craft Group, using a range of textile techniques from applique, to embroidery and felting.
‘It was a fantastic day, very busy and buoyant right through to the end’ Gavin Copland, Executive Head Teacher (Clervaux Trust).
Thank you to everyone who contributed to such a wonderful day!
