Safeguarding at Ruskin Mill College

Safeguarding at Ruskin Mill college is a priority and something that all staff take seriously and it is at the heart of all we do. All staff are trained in Safeguarding and receive regular updates in line with current RMT Policy and advice. All volunteers and visitors who are on site for extended periods of time have appropriate DBS checks.

All safeguarding issues relating to young people and staff at Ruskin Mill College are reported to the Designated Safeguarding Lead. Please click here for details of our full safeguarding team at Ruskin Mill College.

All new staff appointed are required to complete an on-line safeguarding course (children and adults), this is followed by further face to face safeguarding training which is delivered by the safeguarding team.

Members of SLT, Trustees and the HR department have been trained in Safer Recruitment.

In addition to this training, all staff receive a Ruskin Mill Trust Code of Conduct to read, keep and sign to confirm they agree with its content. All staff know they need to report any suspicions, however small, of abuse, neglect or concern to one of the Designated Persons.

If anyone has a concern about the safety or welfare of a child or young person or adult at risk, they have a duty to report this concern. You are able to do this via the safeguarding team or if you are unable you can make a report with Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children or Gloucester Safeguarding Adults

For detailed information about Safeguarding in Gloucestershire, please look at the Gloucestershire Safeguarding Partnership page.

The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) is a national charity which works to fight child abuse. Click here to visit the NSPCC website.
